New Ladies Team Unveiled

7 months ago By Gary Ingerson

Ladies football coming to KingsField

We are delighted to announce that next season the club will be running a ladies team.

Following on from the success of our recently formed U18 girls, we are looking to push on to ladies football next season. The girls have been successfully integrated into the club this season, and have trained alongside the other adult teams to encourage the community feel within the club. It has been fantastic to see the girls flourish within the club, and to even see some of them regularly popping along to support the men in their games.

Manager Tony Capener said "The girls have faced a tough test stepping up into U18 football this season, in a competitive league, and have risen to the challenge. The obvious next step in their development is to get them into ladies football, and to continue to support them in their future challenges"

This is part of the continuing growth of Kempston Town & Bedford College, and chairman Gary Ingerson is keen for this to continue. He recently said "We continue to work hard behind the scenes as a club, and with the new acquisition of KingsField, it's important that we continue to offer as much diversity within club as possible. We will be aiming to make this the most affordable ladies team in the area, and will be looking for support from local companies to ensure that this happens."

We are delighted that Tony is going to continue managing the team, and with the support of Chris Diffey and Matty Capener, we are confident that the team will flourish.

We are looking to run some taster sessions for ladies that may have played in the past, or just want to get involved, and these will be held on Wednesday evening from 4th April, between 6.30pm and 7.30pm. Come down and see the fantastic facilities, and meet the team that will be there to help and encourage everyone involved.
