This week our reserves went on their travels to Meltis Albion, having lost our 100% winning start to the season last time out, we were looking to bounce back here with a win. The game got underway with both teams pushing forward looking for the opening goal, unfortunately for us it was the hosts who broke the deadlock after 11 minutes hitting us on the counter attack. However their celebrations were short lived though as within a minute we were level courtesy of a fine finish from Jesse Sidhu. The game was beginning to really open up with both teams creating chances, we came close to grabbing a 2nd goal only for Jesse to see his effort come back off the crossbar, then the hosts with 10 minutes of the half remaining went 2-1 up and that's how the first half ended.
We couldn't have asked for a more perfect start to the 2nd half, as with only 2 minutes on the clock, Kegan moved into the penalty area and was too quick footed for the defender who could only bring him down giving the Referee no alternative than to point to the penalty spot. Kegan picked himself up and calmly placed the ball past the keeper, to draw us level for the second time in the game. The winning goal of the game came in the last 10 minutes, when we were awarded a free kick just outside the area, Matty stepped up and floated the ball into the area where "Birthday Boy" Michael Sexton rose like a salmon and planted his header past the keeper and into the back of the net. This was a great spirited win having to come from a goal behind twice in the match, well done lads, next up is another away day at Sandy. F/T 2-3
